13.5:1 compression dual plugged heads, Wiseco pistons, Total Seal piston rings, Screamin Eagle cylinder studs, Dyna 2-stage rev limiter, Dyna shift minder control minder, shift light, Electric over air Pingel shift kit, '04 & later screamin eagle high output camshafts, adjustable push rods, roller rocker arms, Pingel wheelie bars, 7 degree raked neck bearing cups, 2002 Sportster Roadster frame, Swingarm was extended 7 inches, EK 520ZZZ chain, The engine cases were purchased new from H-D and this was the first build with them.

Suzuka was always one of the great circuits; unfortunately the Japanese track was dropped following the tragic death of Daijiro Kato in 2003 as the course was deemed too tight and dangerous for the rapid four-strokes. Owned by Honda, Suzuka is a magical place combining arching S-bends from the start of the lap, high-speed in the middle and finished off with the technical and oft racing deciding final chicane, the location of many fantastic last lap battles. However the death of Kato, and Honda’s major hope of a Japanese champion, placed a dark cloud over the 5.807 kilometres of tarmac.

Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points.
