Suzuki Reports 2012-2013 Fiscal Year Results

Suzuki reported an operating loss of 11.9 billion yen (US$117.1 million) from its motorcycle business for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2013. The loss stems from a 10.7% decrease in motorcycles sales and a 9.6% decline in motorcycle revenue from its 2012-2013 fiscal year. According to Suzuki‘s year-end report, motorcycles accounted for 230.3 billion yen in sales revenue, down 254.8 billion yen reported the previous year.

Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. James Stewart Extends Contract with Yoshimura Suzuki

Just days after celebrating his first win of the 2014 season, James Stewart has another reason to celebrate, signing a contract extension with Yoshimura Suzuki to race in AMA Supercross and Motocross through 2015. “Working with James has been a tremendously gratifying experience,” says Mike Webb, Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing team manager. “We’ve really begun gelling as a team and I feel like we’re just now approaching our true potential.
