1988 Suzuki GSX 1100F Katana, GSX1100F is a high-performance sports tourer with full touring fairing with electrically powered height adjustable wind screen and wide dual seat with twin pillion grabrails. Its powerplant came originally from the GSX-R1100, retuned to provide more low-end and mid-range power. The fine aerodynamics of the GSF1100F and the 136 hp engine gave the bike very good top speed. GSX1100F was among the fastest bikes in the world at the time, if not the fastest.This one has spent some time in the sun. Note the paint is faided on the top side of the tank. A great running older bike, fully serviced and ready to ride. As a result of the well-behaving engine and the heavier touring friendly chassis the GSX1100F doesnt feel like a factory racer. 2009-2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000 Recalled for Side Stand Interlock Switch
Fri, 01 Jun 2012Suzuki is issuing a recall for 2009-2011 GSX-R1000 because of a potential failure of the side stand interlock switch. The interlock switch is what cuts off the ignition circuit on a motorcycle when the side stand is down and the transmission is in any gear except neutral. Its purpose is to prevent a motorcycle from moving with the stand deployed.
