Suzuki GS description

1979 GS 750 in very good condition for it's age.  I bought this bike the beginning of this year with the intent on making a cafe racer out of it.  I rode it a handful of times and then parked it on the rack and it sat there until last week.

I've done very little to it.  It ran great last week after installing the Dyna ignition but is really fouling the plugs from running too rich.  I tried to lean out the carbs and now cannot get it started.

The guy I bought it from told me he did a lot of work on the carbs to get the bike running correctly.   I don't have any information on what jets etc are in the carb.  Bike appears to be complete

minus the stock airbox.  It has pod air cleaners.  They are off in the auction photos because I was trying to adjust the carbs yesterday.

I have a clear VA title in my name.  I will also supply a VA bill of sale.

The good

Engine - stock as far as I can tell.  24,XXX miles.

Battery - new in June

Electrics - Horn, headlight, turn signals, brake light, fuel gauge, dash lights all work.

Front brake - works good but squeaks

Tires - back one is new, front has good tread left

Paint - nice silver and burgundy paint

Ignition - Dyna S ignition, new wires and coils installed Sep '13

Gas tank - good interior condition from what I can see, doesn't leak

The not as good

Rear brake - sticking, needs attention

Engine - little oil seepage in places.  I have no history on if it's been rebuilt.

Carbs - adjusted way too rich.  fouling plugs.  need attention.

Brake lever - handlebar brake lever switch doesn't activate brake light.  foot pedal switch is working.

Only selling because I have too many projects and will never get to making a cafe out of it.  NO WARRANTY OR REFUND.

2012 Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS Intro

Fri, 04 Nov 2011

Suzuki invited a select group of moto-jounalists to the Blue Ridge Mountains this week to sample the 2012 V-Stom 650 ABS. The mildly reworked mid-size adventure-tourer proved itself to be an upgraded version of the popular original model. During the two-day test we rode paved two-lane byways and a few dirt road segments.

My favourite ever BSB brolly dolly has to be Keith Flint. He joined me on the grid back in 1997 at Brands Hatch before I nailed down my second championship with two race wins. A nicer bloke you couldn't ever wish to meet so it’s good to see him out and about regularly on his Crescent Suzuki prepared GSXR 1000.

Mobility Scooter with Suzuki Katana Engine Schools Nissan Skyline in Drag Race – Video

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

A little while ago, Honda revealed a 130mph tractor lawn mower with an engine from a Superhawk. Along a similar vein is the Isle of Man’s Garage Insanity with a mobility scooter equipped with a 600cc inline-four engine from a Suzuki Katana. According to Garage Insanity, the mobility scooter has a theoretical top speed of 140mph given enough running room, though in practice, it’s only been timed at 102.2 mph over a quarter-mile.
