Digitally tuned with throttle-position sensors to provide even more low-end torque from the big V-Twin engine. Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) electronic fuel-injection system maintains optimum air velocity in the intake tract for smooth low-to mid-RPM throttle response. Suzuki Pulsed-secondary Air-Injection system (PAIR) introduces air into the exhaust ports to ignite unburned hydrocarbons and reduce emissions. Auto Fast Idle System (AFIS) automatically sets the throttle valve opening during cold engine starts by monitoring coolant temperature. A blacked out staggered dual-exhaust system mounted on the right side of the engine provides a deep rumbling exhaust note and strong torque. Offset crankpins bring optimally balanced firing intervals. Transmission Features A wide-ratio five-speed transmission features a high fifth gear ratio for relaxed highway cruising. Mark Blackwell Recognized as AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Legend
Wed, 08 May 2013American motocross pioneer, race team manager and motorcycle industry executive Mark Blackwell is getting another honor: being recognized as an AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Legend. Blackwell, who was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2000, will be feted alongside the 2013 induction class during AMA Legends Weekend, Oct. 18-19 at the Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino in Las Vegas.
Kevin Schwantz Tests Suzuki MotoGP Bike at COTA
Thu, 17 Apr 2014Former World Champion and Texas native Kevin Schwantz joined the Suzuki MotoGP team at Circuit of the Americas to test its new racebike. Schwantz, who won the 1993 500cc World Championship with Suzuki, joined test riders Randy de Puniet and Nobuastu Aoki in riding the new prototype which is set to enter the MotoGP championship in 2015. Our own Troy Siahaan was in Austin for the MotoGP round and he was on hand to film this clip of Schwantz preparing for his ride: Post by Motorcycle.com.
