Suzuki GSX-R description

This is a perfect, mint condition, 2011 GSX-R750 with only 270 miles on it.  It's been carefully and correctly broken in, increasingly enough throttle to get pressure on the rings, gradually working up the rpm's with appropriate cooling off periods.  It's never been run up near red line.  It's never been dropped, never been on its side.  No scratches, no blemishes.  I am the original owner with clear title.  I am 60 years old,  I had bought this bike brand new from Portland Motorcycle, with the idea of riding it around, but the sportbike ergonomics are not for me, and I've decided to stick with my cruiser bikes.  This bike has always been stored in a heated garage and kept on a battery tender, it's never seen rain.  Fresh gas, runs perfect, all systems are perfect.  Completely box stock, no modifications from showroom new.

Third Annual ‘The MEET’ at ACM

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

More than 2,000 attendees visited America’s Car Museum for its 3rd annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival ‘The MEET’ last weekend in Tacoma, Washington, where over 300 motorcycles and scooters were showcased on the Haub Family Field at LeMay. The event drew pre-1981 motorcycles and scooters from the U.S. and Canada, including an antique motorcycle display, swap meet, cruise-in and a 78-mile roundtrip tour from ACM’s Anderson Plaza to Mt. Rainier.

Anti clockwise Knockhill and riding in the North East with GP winners.

Wed, 06 Jun 2012

I was both nervous and excited for my first ever reverse direction track day last week at Knockhill. From rushing downhill into the left hand off camber hairpin to sweeping up onto the start/finish, nothing bears any resemblance to riding round clockwise. I actually raced my 350LC in the opposite direction in 1982 but it still took a few laps to get my head round what essentially is a brand new track for Scotland.

Why I love BSB's Showdown

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

It has lovers, haters and even many that still don't understand it but everyone in British bike racing is currently talking about the BSB Showdown.  With my rider's or team manager's hat on, I wasn't convinced when it was first announced in 2010 but I'm now totally converted and enjoy every part of the season as intensity increases.  And being a value for money Scot the best thing is you get four championships under one umbrella.  Championship # 1; In the early rounds everyone on the grid has aspirations of taking the title but as the season progresses, the focus narrows down to making sure you secure that top six showdown spot over the first nineteen races (riders can also drop their worst two results).  Championship #2; For the confident front runners, over these races, the real goal is the podium credit championship (3 for 1st ,2 for 2nd,1 for 3rd) which then gives them a points head start after things are put back to zero for the final seven race shoot-out.  Championship #3; The best of the rest championship (7th and below) that will be battled over the final races. Championship # 4;  Over the final seven races the British Superbike Champion is crowned. The recent adding and reshuffling a few top name riders for the Showdown has already spiced things up so hold on tight for the remaining five races!
