Suzuki GSX-R description
Reluctantly selling a clean, low mileage GSXR 1100 that I've owned since 2003. Bike is in outstanding condition for its age, and has a number of custom features and performance enhancements. I'd love to keep it, but the riding position has become a bit too extreme for me, and I'm not using the bike much as I've gotten older. It's time for a new owner to enjoy this fine machine.
EXTERIOR This GSXR has received many custom touches. The bike has been completely polished including the entire frame, wheels, fork, and swingarm, as well as the bars, triple clamps, and footpegs. Flush mount turn signals have been installed up front, and small custom blinkers installed on either side of the taillight in the rear panel for a clean, uncluttered look. Paint and decals are all original and (with the exception of some minor items described below) are in excellent condition. PERFORMANCE The bike features an extensive array of performance upgrades, all professionally performed/installed by Orient Express of Brentwood, NY (see their website at orientexpress.com). The engine features a flow-benched head, Wiseco pistons, Mikuni carbs with a Stage 3 jet kit, ignition advancers, K&N filters, and a full Yoshimura header system. The power comes through a Barnett clutch. For even more power, the bike features a professionally installed Nitrous Oxide System, with a five pound NOS bottle discretely installed underneath the solo seat cowl. The system is engaged by flipping a toggle switch on the inner fairing; when the system is turned on the horn button activates the NOS. As you would expect, these modifications make for a strong-running bike. A dyno chart shows 125 rear-wheel horsepower at 10,000 RPM without using the NOS. This is a bike for an experienced rider who will respect its capabilities. CONDITION As you would expect of a low-mileage and well cared for motorcycle, this GSXR is in outstanding condition for its age. The overall appearance of the bike is exceptional, and there is no history of crash damage or other abuse. The bike has a clear title and runs strong, with everything operating as it should. Fresh tires were installed less than 500 miles ago, and the bike is ready to ride. As with any older bike, however, there are a few cosmetic issues. There is a somewhat deep scratch on front fairing near the headlight. There is a smaller scratch above the taillight on the rear. There are dents in the Yoshimura muffler, although the exhaust pipes themselves are unaffected. (I have a new-in-box Yoshimura muffler to replace the dented can that has never been installed that I can sell to the new owner in a separate transaction). There are also some very light scratches on the right fairing lower. The frame, wheels, and other polished aluminum parts have not been gone over recently, and could benefit from a touch-up polish (which is easily done). I may have missed a few other issues, but the attached photos speak for themselves. This bike is obviously not a trailer queen, but it is in very good condition for its age. INSPECTION The bike is currently located at JDS Cycle in Roselle Park, NJ and is available for inspection during their normal business hours. Please feel free to look the bike over before bidding. Suzuki MotoGP Team Make Progress In Final European Test At Mugello
Thu, 26 Sep 2013A week on from the Suzuki MotoGP test at the Misano circuit, and the team has wrapped up its final test of the season at Mugello. Here, team riders Randy DePuniet and Nobu Aoki tested a new cowling, an updated chassis, as well as further revisions to the electronics package. The new cowling was reported to give a better top-speed performance without any negative effects under different circuit conditions, so it was an improvement and step-forward from the team’s initial test of it in Misano.
