It's not uncommon to take the SuperMoto down a twisty forest trail as well as a tight canyon corners. Its 398cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine provides strong low-rpm torque and crisp throttle response for any of these occasions. They key difference from the DR-Z400SM and the DR-Z400S is the inverted forks. Inverted front forks contribute to less unsprung weight and improved overall handling. Chassis A fully adjustable rear shock absorber with high/low speed compression damping adjuster and aluminum swingarm for precise rear wheel control. Chrome-moly steel frame tuned for Supermoto style riding is torsionally strong with minimal weight. The backbone tube, front down tube, and steering head gussets form the dry sump engine oil tank. Long travel, Showa-brand inverted front fork derived from RM250 - features adjustable compression/rebound damping and alumite coating on inner tube surfaces for smooth action. Strong braking performance supplied by a front disc brake with a large 300mm floating-type rotor and dual-piston caliper, plus 240mm rear disc brake with single-piston caliper.

New AMA Pro SuperBike Final Qualifying Procedure To Be Implemented At Road America
Tue, 20 May 2014AMA Pro Racing is taking a page out of the playbook of the top racing series’ in the world and changing the qualifying format for AMA Pro SuperBike and breaking it up into three stages. This new format will debut later this month when AMA Pro Road Racing takes to the 4.05-mile track at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., for the Subway SuperBike Doubleheader on May 30 – June 1, 2014. All AMA Pro SuperBike competitors will participate in Qualifying 1 and 2.

The event’s sponsor, Monster Energy, has released a video offering a behind-the-scenes look at the event. The seven-time F1 champion was joined by TT racer John McGuinness, retired MotoGP racer Randy Momola, Moto2 racer Pol Espargaro and Keith Flint, a musician from the group Prodigy and a racer in the U.K.’s Hottrax Endurance Championship.
AMA Supercross: 2012 New Orleans Results
Mon, 16 Apr 2012Ryan Villopoto has already secured the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to let up and take it easy over the remainder of the season. The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer clinched his second consecutive title two weeks ago in Houston, Texas, but he continued his dominance in AMA Supercross’ return to New Orleans’ Superdome, taking the holeshot and leading all 20 laps for his ninth win of the season in 14 rounds. The New Orleans round may have lacked some big names currently nursing injuries such as Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed, but Villopoto provided a star effort in the first AMA Supercross race in the city since 2009.
