Suzuki DR description

Up for sale is this 2013 dr650 with ~6500 miles on it. It belongs to my cousin, the original owner and he had an accident. The first three pictures show what the bike look like afterwards and I thought I would be able to fix it with a new gas tank and a new set of forks.

When I went to put the new used fork assembly, from a low miles 2013 dr650, on I noticed that the neck of the frame was twisted as shown in the last picture.

I have the tank on as well but replacing the frame is too much of a project for me. It will also need some little things like blinkers but the bike starts right up just fine and runs and idles no problem. You will also need a front wheel hub or a wheel and tire as shown in the third picture it got messed up.

I am not a professional mechanic so I only know what I see and hear, and this project involves much more than I originally thought it would, I'm not into trying to transfer everything to another frame. You are welcome to come and take a look before bidding on it. I am also selling it locally and reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.

You can see my process in the pictures where I started to take it apart and was ready to put the replacement fork on and it didn't work out. I also strapped it to the lawn mower to make it easier to roll around the garage.

With the auction I will be including the replacement fork assembly and gas tank that I already purchased.

Feel free to ask any questions I am not going to ship it the buyer must arrange for pickup or delivery.

Has a K&N air filter and an aftermarket taillight.

Happy bidding!

Piaggio, Suzuki Hit with Fines by CARB

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

The California Air Resources Board has agreed to settlements with Suzuki and Piaggio for selling motorcycles that the companies did not disclose could be modified to exceed the state’s strict emission standards. Suzuki was hit with the larger of the two penalties, agreeing to a fine of $3,020,000, though the amount could be reduced by $1,812,000 if Suzuki follows certain provisions. The penalty is in addition to the previous fine of $885,000 levied by the Environmental Protection Agency for selling 25,396 LT-R450 ATVs and 62 RMX450Z dirtbikes with a racing map programmed into their ECUs that was not certified or tested. This racing map is not initially accessible to customers, unless they buy aftermarket devices to unlock the higher-performance engine mapping.

Suzuki to Relocate R&D Facility to Lower Tsunami Risk Area

Suzuki is considering moving its motorcycle research facility from its current coastal location to its main factory in Hamamatsu, Japan, to decrease the risk of damage from future tsunamis. According to a report in the Nikkei business daily, Suzuki is acquiring more land in Hamamatsu to house the research center and other facilities. Suzuki CEO Osamu Suzuki first brought up the idea to relocate some of its higher risk coastal properties during its 2011-2012 fiscal year forecast report.

This just in from Arai: "Locked in battle for the World Superbike championship, and putting pressure on current leader Max Biaggi, Alstare Suzuki rider Leon Haslam has a lot going on as the season rolls into autumn. He also has a brand new Arai RX-7 GP replica to show off, which has just arrived into stock at Arai’s UK importer Phoenix Distribution. Leon’s suitably chuffed with his new paintwork: “I’m really pleased with this evolution of my helmet design.
