Suzuki DR description

Big singles that are suitable for road use are rare. Most of them are old British bikes that collectors will pay a small fortune for.  But the old DR650 has the right motor, but it's too tall. It's the perfect place to start a cafe project.

This bike has been lowered 4 inches. It has been gone through to ensure that it is mechanically sound. A new magneto coil has been installed along with a sealed gel battery. The carb has been rebuilt with a Dynojet kit. It has had the airbox mod with a K&N filter. The Dunstall muffler gives it that old time unrestrained sound. It's light with plenty of power and setup with street gearing. Suzuki included an oil cooler to keep it running well. It has LED tail and brake lights with turn signals built in. Yes, It is Fast and Loud.

I have not changed the tires on it since we have many gravel roads around here. I kept the alloy skid plate to allow enduro use. It does not add much weight and does a good job of protecting the motor. While your friends are gingerly taking those gravel curves, you can power through them with these tires, but they will run away from you on the paved roads. Set it up for the street and this lighter high power bike will run away from them. There are many tire options to choose from for your own riding conditions. Nice road only tires are available along with mixed use Motard style tires.

2020 Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT Review – First Ride

ADV for Everyman, now with more power and cruise control Credit: Photos by Suzuki and John Burns How can any red-blooded American not love Suzuki, the blue-collar working motorcycle so many of us thrashed as youths, left parked in alleys with no loss of sleep, covered in fur for a brief period there in the (I think) ’90s… In spite of all the abuse we dished out, Suzuki’s loyalty was never in question. 2020 Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT Editor Score: 88% Engine 18.0/20 Suspension/Handling 13.0/15 Transmission/Clutch 9.0/10 Brakes 8.5/10 Instruments/Controls 4.0/5 Ergonomics/Comfort 9.5/10 Appearance/Quality 8.5/10 Desirability 8.5/10 Value 9.0/10 Overall Score 88/100 2020 Suzuki V-Strom 1050 First Look Of all the GSX-Rs, GSX-Fs, SVs, RMs and TLs that have graced the editorial garage, I think the big V-Strom has emerged as my favorite, even if it wasn’t clear what role the first DL1000 was supposed to play in 2002? Back then, it was all about the GSX-R.
