Suzuki Provides Aid Following Chinese Earthquake

Suzuki is providing 10 million yen (US$100,500) in aid to the Red Cross Society to provide support for those affected by the April 20 earthquake in China’s Sichuan province. Suzuki‘s pledge is in addition to 1 million RMB (US$161,000) donated by Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co., a Suzuki joint venture with China’s Changan Group. The region in southwestern China was hit by a major tremor at about 8 o’clock in the morning, local time.

Yoshimura Suzuki Signs Martin Cardenas to Race AMA Superbike Championship

Reigning AMA Daytona Sportbike Champion Martin Cardenas has signed on to race in the AMA Superbike class for Yoshimura Suzuki. The move was rumored to be in the works for quite some time now, especially following Cardenas’ release from the final year of his contract with his former employer Team Hammer. Cardenas will return to the Superbike class this season, riding a Suzuki GSX-R1000 alongside teammate Chris Clark.

The Japanese are celebrating the 35th anniversary of the legendary Suzuki Katana motorcycle, whose appearance on the road still stuns the layman. Back in the day, the Japanese manufacturer relied on the European design studio Target Design to get an innovative motorcycle.
