Royal Enfield All description

I have decided to take a run at selling my Interceptor. If you are reading this ad, you probably know more about these bikes than I do. That said, I will try to describe what I know about the bike to the best of my ability. Please feel free to ask any and all questions prior to bidding.

I was told when I got this bike that it was a 1964 Royal Enfield Interceptor. It had been in an accident many years back and had been repaired and set up on an older Indian frame. The info is as follows:

The frame is from a 1957 Indian (when they owned Enfield) and the engine and tinware are 1964 Interceptor Series 1.
I have started and run the bike and ridden it a few miles up to highway speed. It runs okay but needs fettling.
Factory spec is 30mm Amal monoblocs; it’s wearing 32mm Amal concentrics.
Contents of the primary case are toast - rusty as hell. I de-rusted the works as well as I could for the sake of starting and testing the engine, but I wouldn’t trust it to hold together indefinitely.
I did not do a compression test. I didn’t see any smoke when I started the engine, but have no idea what the internals look like.
Spares that go with the bike: swingarm (2” shorter), spare front wheel/tire, manuals, a box of hardware and small parts, and the original Interceptor frame (bent but easily fixable by someone with the skills).

So now you know what I do. The bike has been run up to highway speeds. All gears and neutral lever function as designed. It currently has no wiring harness in place other than that needed to make the bike run. An original wiring harness is included, but it's old and British, enough said. Fuel tank is in good shape inside and outside. I have a couple boxes of spares as well as a manual.
The bent frame has the same number as the title, although the title says the bike is a '55, which is most probably a typo. I have 2 swingarms, the longer of the two is currently on the bike. I also have an additional front wheel assembly with the dual brake setup.
I had high hopes of taking this on as a project, but I do not see the time needed being in the cards. It's cool, WAAYYYY cool and deserves to be back on the road.
I'm sure anyone looking at this knows what direction these bikes are going. Recent sale prices show that if you want an Interceptor, you better either get one soon or have a thick wallet....
This is a hard item to describe. I guess expect the worst and you will be pleasantly surprised. I value my feedback score and do not intent to deceive anyone. I will assist in shipping, but you have to do the homework and legwork. The bike will ship from Gunnison, Colorado.

Sure, you can go get a new Royal Enfield, or a new Triumph and now, even a new Norton, but who wants something everyone else has????

Thanks for looking and Good Luck!

Here is a bit of additional information provided via Graham Scarth, Chairman of the Royal Enfield Owners Club UK:

"Frame # JS/15349 is from an Indian Woodsman 500cc single that left Redditch in March 1957.

Frame # 62599 and engine # YB 15691 are presumably the original pairing of a 1964 Interceptor not recorded, but probably dispatched in March based on those that are."

Many thanks to Graham and his group for maintaining these records and providing this information. Hope this clears up any questions regarding date/year model.

Please note:

Bidders with zero or significant negative feedback must contact me prior to bidding.
I don't want to waste anyone's time with bidders who are not serious buyers.
Thanks!

If you ever find yourself traveling through India, consider a detour through Pali, an industrial city in the northwestern state of Rajasthan. About 15 miles out of town along National Highway 65, you’ll come across a curious shrine built around a Royal Enfield Bullet 350. The shrine was erected at the site of an accident that took place on Dec.
