Up for sale is my very nice 80 xt500, this is a low mileage bike at only 5,074 miles,all original down to the factory mirror,bike is not new, it does have a couple scratches and a couple of dings in the tank(I have a perfect tank if you want to purchase it separately)I have had 2 knee surgeries and I am getting older than I think I am LOL so it is getting harder to kick these big thumpers over for me,and I just don't ride it any more. The bike speaks for itself,I will hold for 2 weeks,after that it is $20 a day inside secure storage,as in the past people have left bikes in my garage way too long,sorry but that is the way it is.I will accept bank checks,cash or personal checks,but the bike does not leave my garage till payment is cleared,more trouble with other buyers in the past.I have put a tt500 carb on as the original xt's have the accelerator pump type and the tt's are way simplier.It had a issue with the key switch,so I have installed a new one and the old one does go with the bike,just in case someone wants it.A $500 deposit with paypal in 24 hours of the bike selling,as is no warrantys,don't bid if you aren't gonna buy it.bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. YOU ARE BIDDING ON ONE YAMAHA XT500 IT IS IN GOOD SHAPE COMES WITH THE TITLE, RUNS GOOD HAS BEEN SITTING IS STORAGE FOR THE WINTER JUST TOOK IT AROUND FEELS LIKE IT NEEDS A TUNE UP, THERE ARE SCRATCHES DINGS THE GAS TANK HAS A DENT IN THE SIDE AND SPRAY PAINTED SPOT ON THE TOP OF IT, THE TACH AND SPEEDO MOUNT IS BENT BUT I HAVE A STRAIGHT ONE THAT WILL COME WITH IT, THE SPEEDO WAS NOT WORKING WHEN I LAST TOOK IT OUT, THE TIRES ARE WEATHER CHECKED THE SEAT HAS A SMALL RIP IN THE REAR OF IT, THE EXHAUST HEAT GUARDS ARE DINGED UP, GOOD BIKE TO JUST RIDE OR RESTORE BEST OFFER TAKES IT! 1980, Garage Kept ,immaculate. Purchased a yr ago from a doctor in California who kept the Motorcycle in the garage putting 7000 mil total. Looks new.

The bike is a near perfect condition. It has a few minor scratches. The bike has a new camshaft, a new rocker arm, a new kick-start cable.

I am selling my 1980 Yamaha XT 250 (yeah, same model Rambo rode). I recently got a TW200 and it's time to depart with the trusty XT! When I got the bike (only a few hundred miles ago) it had been sitting so it has a new set of rings, fresh valve job, valves freshly adjusted (10 miles ago), cam chain retensioned, fuel filter added, tank treatment added, new Renthal chain and sprockets, new engine bolts (All Allen head), and new front brakes, tire, and inner tube.

This auction bid is for a 1980 Yamaha XT 250 dual sport.  I purchased the bike from the original owner approximately 8 years ago for my wife; she rode it a couple of times and it's been stored since.  Overall condition is very good for its age.  There is a dent in the left side of the tank and the the handlebar is bent slightly (by original owner).  There are also some chips in the sidecovers as seen in the photos.  Mechanically the bike is in great shape and runs well.  While removing the exhaust for painting the head broke off one of the exhaust bolts; the exhaust gasket still seals but this should be fixed before the bike is ridden extensively (no more than a $75 fix at your local bike shop, I've lowered the reserve to address this).  The battery and tires are original and should also be replaced as well.  Overall a very nice bike for riding or full restoration.    The bike is being offered as-is with no warranty.  I am relisting the bike as the previous high bidder did not pay for/pick up the bike within the specified timeframe; please do not bid unless you are serious about completing this transaction. Payment/delivery terms are as follows: The winning bidder is required to contact me via eBay messaging within 48 hours of auction close and specify a pickup date and time. The bike can be picked up anytime from 9/6/13-9/8/13 and from 9/14/13-9/15/13.  I would like a 25% deposit if delivery is after 9/8/13.  Full payment is required no later than 9/15/13 (I'll hold the bike for a couple of weeks upon full payment)
