Other XR750 Harley-Davidson description
Fully documented history from year of manufacture, this XR750 was raced for 3 years. In 1973 the bike was purchased by the guy who owned it until the beginning of last year, when I bought it. It is in excellent original condition and easily started after light recommissioning, as shown on this video of the bike running for the first time in decades. After this was shot, the fuel and oil were drained and it has not been started since. This is a factory-built machine. It is not an XR750 built from a mixture of original and aftermarket parts. The provenance of this motorcycle has been authenticated and further details are available on request.
Apart from the patina and signs of light wear of an original unrestored bike that's 46 years old, the condition of the motorcycle is exceptional. https://youtu.be/hWGxH-0bI-s The tail was signed by Jay Springsteen, "'Springer #9 HD". It is not believed to have been raced by Springsteen, however. Photos and documents including races. As with virtually all XR750's that saw competition, this bike has minor modifications, notably an added rear brake. XR750's were sold without titles, as they were built for competition-only, not street, use. I understand there are some street-converted XR750's out there whose owners have applied for and received new titles. I will leave that decision up to the new buyer. This motorcycle is sold with a bill of sale only. The motorcycle is located in Long Island, New York. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I will assist in any way I can. Domestic delivery, depending on location, may be possible for an additional fee. International buyers are welcome however all inquiries regarding the cost to ship to your country are the responsibility of the bidder. Do not bid unless and until all inquiries for shipping, customs, import, etc. have been made. The winning bidder is required to pay an immediate deposit of $500. The balance is due within 7 days by wire transfer or cash only. I am happy to keep the motorcycle secure and indoors for a longer period of time while the winning bidder arranges shipment at no additional cost. The stand is included. This motorcycle is sold as-is, where is and no warranties are expressed nor implied. All sales are final and there are no refunds nor returns. Therefore ask any questions that concern you before placing your bid, which is binding upon the winner to pay per the auction terms. No bidders with under 10 or negative feedback may bid without first contacting me. If not, bids that do not comply will be removed. This is a no reserve auction. The winning bidder will own this historic masterpiece. Bike is also for sale on my website (nycmc dot com), along with others. I reserve the right to end the auction early at any time for any reason. |
