Other Puch Twingle 250 SGS description
1966 Sears Allstate 250 (aka Puch Twingle 250SGS ) Runs, rides, great patina! Ideal candidate to ride as is and get lots of attention or an easy winter restoration project! Two-stroke bliss!
Please read full ad before bidding and ask questions! This little Sears / Puch, being 50 years old will be sold with a current registration (yes I ride it) and a bill of sale only. Video of it running strong here: youtube.com/watch?v=wpsq-gy1pwM Rewind Motorworks is selling our amazing 1966 Sears Allstate 250 / Puch Twingle 250 in as you see it condition. It is registered and runs and rides. If you are reading this ad you probably know that Puch is an Austrian brand that has been around for ages. Sears Roebuck, Co basically took a Puch Twingle, slapped some Sears badges on it and sold it through their stores/catalogues! Twingle's are two stroke motors and have a very interesting dual piston set up within a single cylinder.... hence the Twin/single = twingle. Google it... pretty rad! They are surprisingly reliable and this one kicks right over and fires up 50 years after coming down that assembly line in Austria. The particulars on this bike: Based on age, bill of sale and current registration provided with sale. This will be the only requirements in most states to register but please check with you local laws and governing bodies before bidding. Headlight will need to be wired. Comes with a complete replacement headlight assembly including bulb, bucket, wiring harness, speedo (cannot verify function) ignition switch and key. It will be an easy couple hour project. The bike runs, rides, and turns heads. It will smoke a little when you start it (like all two strokes) but just sounds amazing once you twist the throttle. I just logged about 80 miles on it today without running issues, though, it is 50 years old. It will shift through all 4 gears with persuasion, it will find neutral with some persuasion, and it will get more attention than a $25,000 Harley. The tail light is not original (Honda CB unit from the 70's) but works as a parking light and brake light. Neutral indicator light works as well as parking bulbs. So let me reiterate. This bike is 50 years old this year. She leaks a little oil, shifts a little crunchy, but the bones are all there for a simple full restoration or just ride the crap out of it! Like I did today! It has new tires, some new cables, new fuel petcock/hoses/line/etc. Not rot on frame, just light surface rust everywhere giving it just the perfect patina. We are going to let this one run once and see what happens. We may just decided to restore it ourselves over the winter since it's so complete and a runner! Please read ad fully before bidding and ask questions because even we can forget things! The bike is 50 years old but is ridden and started daily! These bikes are reliable and easy to work on. Bike is sold in "as is" condition and no warranty is written nor implied. All sales are final. All bids are final and legally binding. Please only bid if you are 18 years or older and have the funds and intentions of purchasing this vehicle.. Thank you for your business. Bike is located in Acton, Massachusetts and buyer is responsible for shipping fees. Seth @ Rewind Motorworks |
