Norton Commando description

Vintage 1973 Norton 750cc Commando orange colored metal flake tank and side covers. It's been garaged for many years and needs some cleaning/restoration TLC and wiring work for sure (Zenner Diode and the charging system wiring). Includes owner's manual mirrors gas tank and assigned valid IL title. Gas tank is about half full of old fuel and will need to be drained and a good cleaning as well as probably the carbs. May need both front and back tires and tubes replaced as well as a battery seat oil change and maybe a tuneup. Last ran in the mid 80's maybe late 80's I believe. Pistons are free and moving was able to kick it. Available for inspection if seriously interested. Thanks. Email or call leave a clear message/number for callback (No Caller ID). Thanks.

Bonhams Auctions 1966 Norton Manx For $100K

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

The top selling model of Bonhams annual sale of collectors’ motorcycles, a 1966 Norton 350cc Manx prepared by legendary tuner Francis Beart and raced by Joe Dunphy and Keith Heckles, fetched a whopping $100,481 last Sunday. The auction price more than doubled the top selling estimate and set a new world record for a Manx sold at auction. Eighty percent of the 436 lots offered sold at the auction totaling $2,168,314 Hot on its heels came the technological marvel from an earlier era that produced the sale’s best result when the 250cc Moto Morini Grand Prix racer from the 1960s fetched $145,081. The Molnar Norton Manx, prepared and entered by Fred Walmsley for the late World Champion Barry Sheene,  sold for $89,490.

Production of 650cc Norton models will start at the end of next year

In addition to the release of V4 and Commando models, the British plan to expand their lineup. The Norton V4 and Commando motorcycles, presented to the public in 2018, will not start rolling off the assembly line until the end of 2021. This is primarily due to the fact that Norton, owned by the Indian company TVS, is currently busy transferring production from Donnington Hall to Solihull.
