Its 500 cc, electronic fuel injected, DOHC liquid-cooled engine delivers at highway speeds with plenty of passing power. KYMCO's popular CVT transmission provides stepless acceleration from a standing start all the way up to cruising speed. The 15-inch front and 14-inch rear tires, adjustable hydraulic rear shocks and telescopic front forks smooth out the bumps. Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.

Fri, 09 Jun 2017Cross town for less Credit: Photos by Michael Spain-Smith With a scooter market of less than 30,000 units from major manufacturers a year*, the USA isn’t much of a thing for scooters, and medium-displacement scoots like Kymco’s new $3,999 Xtown are even less of a thing since Honda dropped its PCX 300 and Suzuki fired its Burgman 400. I got to ride the new Kymco Xtown 300i ABS last week, a scooter that replaces two similar-sized models in the Taiwanese company’s line and offers solid value to the scooter rider that wants comfort, convenience and freeway-friendly power. For 2018, Kymco also offers the bigger, faster – and $2,000 pricier – Xciting 400i, but has also dropped the Downtown 300i and People 300i from the line.
