KTM Other description

UP FOR SALE:

2 HMC KTM  2005/2006  KTM factory race bikes  ( 560 SMR and 612 SMR - 70+ Hp) purchased from Mitch Hansen owner of HMC Racing. I only have one title with both bikes as these bikes were never intended for street use. The title says “ Team 2 Racing “on it and came from HMC racing)..

These bikes were contested in AMA Supermoto Unlimited class and were ridden by then HMC’s Benny Carlson and Jurgen Kunzel out of Germany who won the 2005 AMA Unlimited Championship that year.  Both motors were freshly rebuilt by HMCs head mechanic Ulrich  “ Uli ” Toporch before taking delivery and have many unobtainable parts... such as:

1-    KTM factory slipper clutch in both and I have a full complete spare with basket

2-    Factory race spec 6 speed transmission

3-    612cc big bore kit and stroked crank on one bike and I have a spare unused 612 kit ( cylinder and piston with rings etc) … I got the last one available in the country I believe…

4-    Akrapovic race pipe that was made especially for HMC team ( has a logo name logo on the midpipe pipe I have never seen before)… but I could be wrong about this one..

5-    The 560 has a factory race adjustable triple clamp with a very low offset ( 11-14 degrees I believe..) ?!? but I am not certain about those numbers.. so “don’t quote me”… I do know the rake is a lot smaller then on the 612 and it turns in very quick yet stable at high speed…

6- head work done by HMC

These bikes also have several upgrades professionally added by yours truly ( a certified mechanic and shop owner) after purchasing from HMC … some of the upgrades are related to riding on the street as I have a dealer tag and was intending to do a little riding locally but never really had the time to do so. No race parts were sacrificed so make no mistake about what you are looking at. This is not your average SMR or EXC with a headlight…I have done a few track days since purchasing but I now have 2 kids under the age of 3 and have had almost no time to ride anymore in the last few years… So rather then see them go to waste any longer I will offer them up for sale… also have enough spare parts to go racing for a long time…  I am sure I will miss something about these bikes in the description but I will try and get most of it, or at least the major features that I have added..I will not be listing every spare part and I am not looking to sell any of them seprately.  I would ideally like to sell both bikes and spares as a package to someone looking to go racing with an A and a B bike… I can offer the best deal that way. These bikes were intended for racing and not street use. Both bikes came from HMC racing with powder coated frames so i had to add the VINs on with a label gun... but i have the bill of sales to verify.. The 612 comes with the original title from HMC naming the team ( team 2 racing) as the owner and the 560 will come with a title for an EXC if you want to register in your state. Please don't ask if you can register these bikes... I will not answer you as I don't live in your state and honestly have no idea, but in MD i had no problems!

KTM Moto3 exotica

Fri, 17 Feb 2012

KTM's return to racing in the Moto3 class has resulted in one of the most exotic race machines for the new four-stroke replacement class. The lightweight 24kg 250cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine has been connected to a trellis frame, and it is all contained within a beautifully crafted carbon-fibre shell that includes a self-supporting seat unit. Now in its second stage of development, the whole package has been pretty impressive in testing, with Red Bull Ajo KTM riders Danny Kent and Sandro Cortese putting in some fast laps.

2014 AMA Supercross Oakland Results

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

With three different racers tasting victory in the first three rounds of the 2014 AMA Supercross Championship, the season was shaping up to be one of the deepest and most competitive fields we’ve seen. But at Round Four at O.o Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., Ryan Villopoto showed why he remains the top dog, leading each lap for his second win of the season. The Kawasaki rider only trailed at the very start of the race, as Honda rider Vince Friese took the holeshot with Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton slotting in second through the first corner.

EICMA 2008: First Impressions

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

I have had a little walk around checking out the preparations for the show. I havent seen anything that I havent already seen or heard about previously, but heres a selection from three of the halls. Yamaha are the only manufacturer to use an industrial crane to place some of its bikes up on high rise stands.
