KTM Other description

Flawless, meticulously maintained, and impossible to find SXS with 9.2 hours. My son has moved up to the 65cc class so we are selling his 50. If you are looking at this ad, then you already know the advantage that an SXS has over the regular SX models.

  • 2016 Ktm 50 SXS, Limited Production Bike - For 2016, the KTM 50 SXS builds on the already potent 50 SX model, creating a 50 cc race bike fit for the highest level of amateur motocross racing and the next generation of champions. The 2016 50 SXS comes complete with a SXS fully-adjustable racing shock with reservoir, FMF pipe and silencer, SXS billet clutch cover, and a SXS chain adjustment block and guide. Additionally, the jetting has been tuned in the Dell’Orto PHBG 19 BS carburetor; sintered brake pads replace the stock units; and new clutch springs give better performance to the centrifugal automatic clutch. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a smaller 38-tooth Renthal sprocket. A special SXS graphic kit is also new for 2016.

2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R Revealed

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Almost a year after it was revealed in prototype form, KTM has released final specifications and photographs of the all-new 1290 Super Duke R production model. Until now, KTM had been coy about the specs for its large-displacement naked bike, but we can now see what makes the Austrian manufacturer nickname the new Super Duke R as “the Beast”. In typical KTM style, the 1290 in the bike’s name provides only a ballpark estimate of the actual engine displacement.

OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes

Sat, 01 Nov 2008

KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.

KTM Developing 500cc and 800cc Twins

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

After setting a new company record for motorcycle sales on the back of small displacement models like the Duke line (like the 390 Duke pictured above), KTM is turning its attention to mid-sized models. Speaking with Overdrive.in at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer says the company has 500cc and 800cc parallel Twin engines in development, with new models expected to enter production within three years. The new mid-sized models will be produced in India for the Indian market to avoid the country’s stringent import duties.
