2014 KTM 85 SXS, 2014 KTM 85 SX THE LITTLE BIG ONE The KTM 85 SX is the prime choice for future champions. As the minicycle class leader, the 85 SX features the most powerful engine in the field housed in a lightweight, stable chassis. For the highest level of amateur competition, the 85 SX is the clear choice. Features may include: Suspension travel and damping Up front, there's a 43mm upside down fork with 270mm of travel, while a revised PDS monoshock on the rear now provides even better traction and optimum surface contact. Both are made by renowned supplier WP Suspension. Of course, rebound and compression damping can be adjusted separately for a quick and precise set-up to match the track and rider. KTM Reports Q2 2013 Sales Results
Fri, 23 Aug 2013KTM reported sales of 52,054 motorcycles over the first six months of 2013, a 26.3% increase from the 41,202 motorcycles sold in the same period of 2012. Streetbike sales were particularly strong, with KTM selling 27,752 motorcycles, a 28.4% improvement form 21,610 motorcycles. KTM credits the increase to strong sales for the 125 Duke and 200 Duke produced with Indian partner Bajaj which accounted for 3,392 motorcycles.
EICMA 2011: KTM 690 Duke Unveiled
Wed, 09 Nov 2011First, the good news: KTM has taken the covers off the 690 Duke at the EICMA show in Milan this morning. The machine is almost entirely all-new from the ground up and, KTM says, brings the company back to its street bike beginnings. KTM’s venerable 690cc LC4 single-cylinder engine is the obvious choice for power, only now it puts out a claimed 70hp and 51 lbs.-ft.
Dainese Reveals D-Air Racing Thorax
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Dainese has revealed a new version of its airbag protection system for racers that adds protection to a rider’s chest named the D-Air Thorax. Like the D-Air Street, the Thorax uses an airbag that inflates upon a collision to protect the collarbone and torso, but has a more ergonomic design to suit a racer’s compact riding posture. The shoulder protection has also changed from the original D-Air Racing design, covering more of the shoulders’ sides as well as the collarbone area.
