KTM is producing a new video series offering a look behind the scenes of the 2011 AMA Motocross and AMA NationalEnduro championships. The six-episode ‘KTM Behind the Machine” series, which premieres Sept. 30 on KTM‘s,  follows the Red Bull KTM Motocross team and the FMF KTM off-road racing team.

The KTM Brabus 1300 R is naturally based on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO supernaked and equipped with a V-twin LC8 engine with a volume of 1301 cm³, giving 180 hp and 140 Nm of torque.The motorcycle received a new and fairly recognizable body kit, new optics, unique forged 9-spoke Monoblock Z wheels, a direct-flow exhaust, a custom-made heated seat and the mass of milled elements.The KTM Brabus 1300 R 2022 will be produced in the amount of 154 pieces (77 for each color) and is estimated by the manufacturer at 39500 ˆ. Only Europeans and South Africans will be able to order the novelty.

It was good to catch up with my old mate Daryl Beattie last weekend in Misano. Daryl was pushing Mick Doohan hard for the 500cc World Championship in 1995 until he high sided and broke his collar bone in Assen mid way through the year. He eventually finished runner up in the series but then some fairly big tumbles from his Lucky Strike Suzuki in 1996 brought his career to a premature end.
