Under the Skin of a KTM RC8 R-Powered Sidecar Racer

If you’ve never seen a sidecar race, you’d be amazed at how different it is from motorcycle racing. Not only do you have some entirely different physics at work with the third wheel, you also have a passenger sprawled over the chassis behind the rider, sticking his body out to either side at lean angles that would make Marc Marquez break a sweat. Ryan Dungey Propels KTM to First AMA Motocross Championship

The combination of racer Ryan Dungey, team manager Roger de Coster and the KTM 450 SX-F has delivered KTM its first ever 450 AMA Motocross title. Dungey rebounded from a first-lap crash in the opening moto at Unadilla Raceway to sweep both motos and clinch the 2012 AMA Motocross championship. The sweep gave the Red Bull KTM factory rider 450 points on the season and an insurmountable 113-point gap over MotoConcepts Suzuki‘s Mike Alessi.

Day 5 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins Stage, Moves Into Overall Lead

Red Bull KTM factory rider and three-time Dakar winner Marc Coma won stage five today followed by his teammate Jordi Viladoms and KTM supported rider Kuba Przygonski allowing KTM to scoop the top three places. Today´s stage five from Chilecito to Tucuman was characterized by hot temperatures, lots of sand and navigation in dry vegetation. Organizers decided to cancel the second part of the special for safety reasons and also because heavy thunderstorms threatened the area.
