KTM Other description
2013 KTM 300 XC-W, 2013 KTM 300 XC-W BETTER THAN EVER! The KTM 300 XC-W is renowned for its massive 2-stroke performance and torque. The revolutionary KTM DDS clutch feels fantastically light and smooth. This machine is equipped with the same technical features as its 250cc brother. Its tried and tested chassis is tailor-made for extremely tough tracks. It carries on where others climb off. Features may include: Frame The modern and lightweight frame design made of high-strength chromoly steel sections combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional ridigty. It guarantees easy handling and precise cornering, but also outstanding stability. Swingarm Designed using the latest in calculation and simulation software, the design and wall thickness of the cast aluminum swingarm have been optimized for minimum weight at optimum stiffness and precisely defined flexibility. For 2013, the engineers have revised the chain guide to increase reliability while lowering the weight. Triple clamps The lower triple clamp has been redesigned for optimum accomodation of the new front fender. Thanks to its new contour and mounting with two front and two bottom bolts, the new fender has a lot more stability. Superior suspension settings The first rate WP Suspension elements have been further improved for 2013. Specially designed for enduro riding and in some models with an optimized tuning, they ensure maximum traction and plenty of comfort. Of course, compression and rebound damping can be adjusted to the track conditions and the rider's preferences with a twist of the wrist - the rear monoshock has separate high and low speed adjustments.

Mon, 03 Dec 2012KTM has carved out a niche recently in the small-displacement streetbike market with its Duke lineup of naked motorcycles. First came the 125 Duke, then the 200 Duke, and more recently unveiled at EICMA, the 390 Duke, which we hope will be the first in the family to make it to the U.S. All three little Dukes have similar chassis and streetfighter styling, with the engine displacement being the main difference between them.

KTM RC8R: The first month
Thu, 24 May 2012First impressions are everything so the gearbox niggles on the first RC8s meant I didn’t become an instant fan. There was never a problem for normal road riding but when the pace was increased on track days false neutrals were found and gears were missed. Ironically I might have been able to help here as KTM signed me up for pre-production shakedown testing before I got sidelined with appendicitis.
