2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. KTM 690 Duke Replaces Kawasaki Ninja 250R for WSBK’s 2012 European Junior Cup
Fri, 20 Jan 2012The World Superbike Championship‘s European Junior Cup youth racing series will switch to race-prepped KTM 690 Duke motorcycles for 2012 from the Kawasaki Ninja 250R racebikes used in its inaugural 2011 season. The rebranded KTM European Junior Cup will be open to riders 14-19 and will be held at eight WSBK rounds in 2012. The series was conceived as an entry point for young racers, providing them opportunities to develop their skills before moving up to higher classes such as the World Superstock Championship and beyond.
2014 KTM 450 Rally Replica Announced
Thu, 20 Feb 2014KTM announced it will offer an official replica production version of its Dakar-winning 450 Rally bike. Marc Coma rode the 450 Rally for his fourth Dakar victory and 13th in a row for KTM in January, finishing nearly two hours faster than any other motorcycle entrant. The 2014 KTM 450 Rally Replica will be available for purchase later this year for €24,000 (US$32,881) for privateer racers or anyone else who wants to own their own rally bike.
