KTM Moto3 Valencia Test

While MotoGP factory and satellite teams held their first pre-season tests this week in Malaysia, KTM held its own test for nine riders in the new Moto3 class earlier in the week in Spain. While the premiere class’ new 1000cc engine displacement limit and Claiming Rule Team entries draw the most attention, we can’t forget MotoGP isn’t the only class in the World Championship seeing changes for 2012. The new Moto3 class also debuts this season, replacing the old 125GP class.

2013 KTM SX Lineup Revealed

KTM revealed its 2013 motocross model lineup featuring a new 250 four-stroke engine and updates to the 350 powerplant. The 2013 KTM 250 SX-F gets a new powerplant said to be lighter than the previous engine thanks to a new high-strength aluminum alloy. The new engine has a 78mm bore and a 52.3 mm stroke, compared to the previous model’s 76mm bore and 54.8mm stroke.

2013 AMA Supercross Houston Race Report

Ryan Villopoto captured his fifth-consecutive AMA Supercross win and sixth in seven rounds with a victory in the main event at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider passed holeshot-taker Mike Alessi on the opening lap and led the rest of the way for the win. Alessi, riding the Motoconcepts Racing Suzuki RM-Z450, remained in the hunt for the first few laps but soon gave way to a group including Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard, Red Bull KTM‘s Ryan Dungey and Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart.
