KTM Other description

You are bidding on a 2010 KTM 690 SMC.  The 690 SMC is a very versatile, fun bike, willing to explore the bumpiest roads, paved or not.  Typical outstanding KTM build quality.  It’s light, fast enough, and gets superb gas mileage (~55+ mpg).  Low mileage, always garaged, never raced, never crashed.

Lots of extras, with the focus on bike protection and riding comfort:

>  KTM axle guards, front and rear ($90)

>  KTM engine protection “bash” pan ($50)

>  KTM headlight mask ($40) and KTM touring windshield ($65)

>  Wolfman enduro bag ($84), with Aerostitch tubeless flat kit ($42), stock tool kit

>  Seat Concepts gripper carbon seat ($190) – MUCH more comfortable than stock seat!

>  KoubaLink 1” lowering link ($150) – front end also lowered 1”

>  Pivot Pegz Mark 3 ($170)

>  Galfer Wave discs, front and rear ($400)

>  Galfer GG organic pads, front and rear ($80)

>  Battery Tender (installed)

With the winning bid, you will also receive the original stock headlight mask, rear shock link, pegs, rear passenger pegs, front and rear discs and pads, and seat grab handles.  You can either keep the bike as is and sell the stock pieces, or put the bike back to stock and sell the accessories.

Includes Owner’s Manual, Spare Parts Manuals for both engine and chassis, key and spare key, and original KTM document bag.

Dealer serviced at 600 miles, and 2,740 miles.

At 1,850 the stock rear Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa Pro was already corded, dealer replaced with Dunlop SportMax RoadSmart.

Currently 3,762 miles, but I may add a few miles to keep the bike happy.

I have CA Certificate of Title.  Registration is valid to 11/28/13.  However, I have already paid the CA DMV registration fees and am waiting for the sticker, so registration is valid to 11/28/14!

Good luck and good bidding!

2014 KTM Freeride 250R – Two-Stroke Power in a 204-Pound Package

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

Back in 2011, KTM introduced a new entry-level off-road model called the Freeride 350 with an astounding light claimed weight of just 218 pounds. Three years later, the Austrian has followed it up with a new 249cc two-stroke version claiming an even lighter 204 pounds. The new Freeride 250R becomes the third member of KTM’s Freeride family alongside the 350 and the electric Freeride E.

KTM RC8R: The first month

Thu, 24 May 2012

First impressions are everything so the gearbox niggles on the first RC8s meant I didn’t become an instant fan. There was never a problem for normal road riding but when the pace was increased on track days false neutrals were found and gears were missed. Ironically I might have been able to help here as KTM signed me up for pre-production shakedown testing before I got sidelined with appendicitis.

EICMA 2011: KTM 690 Duke Unveiled

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

First, the good news: KTM has taken the covers off the 690 Duke at the EICMA show in Milan this morning. The machine is almost entirely all-new from the ground up and, KTM says, brings the company back to its street bike beginnings. KTM’s venerable 690cc LC4 single-cylinder engine is the obvious choice for power, only now it puts out a claimed 70hp and 51 lbs.-ft.
