KTM Other description

Vintage Penton MC5 175 Motocrosser.    Came from a local Penton collection. I wanted to keep this one, as it really floats my boat, but I will never do anything with it so here it is.

Frame # 550 06992
Engine # 8-5210665

Bike starts right up and runs great. I was told the top end was new. On the one ride I took it on it shifted fine and pulled hard....then the chain fell off. It needs chain and sprockets, and two rubber exhaust hangers. Im  sure there will be other minor needs as well. This is the 10th anniversary model. Would make a great vintage moto cross bike for the under 200 class!

AMA Supercross: 2012 Atlanta Results

Mon, 27 Feb 2012

Ryan Villopoto‘s winning streak was snapped, KTM scored its second series win and Cole Seely impressed as an injury replacement for Trey Canard as the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship landed in Atlanta, Ga. Racing for the American Honda Muscle Milk team, Seely nabbed the holeshot and led the opening seven laps before finally being overtaken by Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey. Monster Energy Kawasaki‘s Villopoto had a poor start by his standards, finishing the first lap in sixth place.

WSB, Nobby Ueda and my KTM RC8R

Tue, 15 May 2012

WSB last weekend at Donington Park, once again delivered some amazing racing but I'm not sure what Leon Haslam has to do to get that first victory on the BMW. He looked the strongest prospect for the win in race one until Marco Melandri appeared to brake a tad early at the Esses sending the Pocket Rocket across the gravel. I really believe it was a case of innocent victims though at the last corner on the last lap in race two.

EICMA 2012: KTM 690 Duke R Brings Out Your Inner Hooligan

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

The biggest news from KTM at the 2012 EICMA Show was the unveiling of the new 390 Duke and a prototype of the upcoming 1290 Super Duke R. In between these small and large naked bikes, KTM announced a new R-spec version of its middleweight 690 Duke. The 690 Duke was introduced in 2007 and received a substantial update last year with a 690cc engine claiming 67 hp, leading KTM to call it the world’s most powerful Single in a production model.
