2014 KTM 250 SX-F
Purchased from TJ's Cycle in Austin in January and ridden at Hidden Falls twice. I admit that I've made a mistake. I was taken in by the sweet graphics, the easy electric start and the no-more-carb cleaning fuel injection, and failed to analyze the style of riding for which this bike is made. Close ratio gearbox, taught suspension, immediate power...not the bike for me. This is a low-hours 2014 model purchased from and maintained by TJ's along with another by the previous owner. Thus it was ridden very little...and continues to be. Although there was no hours-meter installed, their estimate is less than 20hrs. I've had the wheels re-laced to new black Excel rims, and this is a striking bike. Feel free to reach out with any questions. |

KTM Reports Q2 2013 Sales Results
Fri, 23 Aug 2013KTM reported sales of 52,054 motorcycles over the first six months of 2013, a 26.3% increase from the 41,202 motorcycles sold in the same period of 2012. Streetbike sales were particularly strong, with KTM selling 27,752 motorcycles, a 28.4% improvement form 21,610 motorcycles. KTM credits the increase to strong sales for the 125 Duke and 200 Duke produced with Indian partner Bajaj which accounted for 3,392 motorcycles.
2013 AMA Supercross Atlanta Race Report
Mon, 25 Feb 2013James Stewart captured his first AMA Supercross win in nearly a year, leading every lap in front of 68,987 fans at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta in his most consistent main event showing so far this season. The Yoshimura Suzuki racer was dominant in Atlanta, posting the fastest qualifying times and taking the holeshot to lead his eight-lap heat race before doing it again in the 20-lap main event. Stewart’s previous win was March 10, 2012, at Daytona International Speedway.
KTM Developing 500cc and 800cc Twins
Wed, 05 Feb 2014After setting a new company record for motorcycle sales on the back of small displacement models like the Duke line (like the 390 Duke pictured above), KTM is turning its attention to mid-sized models. Speaking with Overdrive.in at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer says the company has 500cc and 800cc parallel Twin engines in development, with new models expected to enter production within three years. The new mid-sized models will be produced in India for the Indian market to avoid the country’s stringent import duties.
