KTM Other description

I own 3 other bikes, all of them touring and weekend bikes that my wife and I use to drive throughout the Northeast. My wife recently started to enjoy riding on the BMW cruiser more than this KTM, and so it's time to sell it. I originally bought this bike back before my wife enjoyed riding, and would ride it through the hills in New Hampshire. I would ride it solo, but nowadays my wife enjoys riding with me all the time, so it is just wasting away in our garage.

The KTM made the top of my list when I bought it because it had all of the power and torque curve that the Ducati 1198 and 1199 had at the time, yet was significantly more reliable. If you don't know, KTM makes off road bikes that are iron-clad, and this bike clearly benefited from that engineering. If you look at the picture of the engine, I have never needed to clean it - it still looks brand new

In preparation to sell it, I have had brand new tires installed on both front and back wheels - which was somewhat wasteful since the old tires were fine. And I have had the brake pads replaced. I was able to find the special orange key and card with the bike's racing pin-code that supposedly allow you to switch it's mode for track use. I have never even tried it, so can't say whether this improves the performance in any measurable way.

This bike is absolutely the best value for a bike at the intersection of performance and reliability. It will never leave you stranded with a dead battery like many of my fellow Ducati or MV Augusta riding friends over the years. Meanwhile, the KTM RC8R isn't a bike people see every day, so when I rode it around, I was always the only rider on an RC8R. The pictures don't do it justice, this is a strikingly attractive bike!

Are you tired of the Harlem Shake yet? The Internet meme has been around for a couple of weeks now with what seems like everyone and their third cousin producing their own take on the theme. For those lucky few who have no idea what the Harlem Shake is, it’s a new fad based around a track by the same name produced by Brooklyn DJ Baauer.

Day 5 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins Stage, Moves Into Overall Lead

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

Red Bull KTM factory rider and three-time Dakar winner Marc Coma won stage five today followed by his teammate Jordi Viladoms and KTM supported rider Kuba Przygonski allowing KTM to scoop the top three places. Today´s stage five from Chilecito to Tucuman was characterized by hot temperatures, lots of sand and navigation in dry vegetation. Organizers decided to cancel the second part of the special for safety reasons and also because heavy thunderstorms threatened the area.
