The Moto GP 2 stroke era finally ends.

It might have been the fumes of the 40:1 fuel mix but I had a tear in my eye when the chequered flag came out for the last ever competitive two stroke race in the Moto GP paddock on Sunday at Aragon. With two riders on the sick list twenty two identical single cylinder KTM 125s buzzed round for fifteen laps of mayhem and sometimes eight abreast heading into the first and last corners. The sight, sound and smell were fantastic and the clean close racing was a fitting end to a very special era.

2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. Riding KTMs on Ice – Video

Much of Europe has been absolutely hammered by ice and snow over the last couple of weeks, with some places like Rome momentarily banning motorcycles and scooters from public roads due to safety concerns. The cold snap didn’t stop the people behind the Dutch site Oliepeil.nl from having a little fun with the help of KTM. Oliepeil.nl took a KTM 500 EXC dirt bike, a  525 XC ATV and a KTM X-Bow car onto a frozen area in the Heteren region of the Netherlands for some ice riding.
