KTM Adventure tech info
KTM Adventure description
2014 KTM 1190 Adventure, S Model. I am original owner, clear title in hand. Never been dropped, tracked or wrecked. Original tires in great shape. KTM (Touratech) Factory side bags, KTM tank bag, factory heated grips and factory heated touring seats, and Factory Engine Case Guard all installed at time of purchase. Since then, I have upgraded the front headlights to LED--Cyclops, installed the 1290 Windscreen and headlight cowl--much better wind protection at highway speeds, upgraded the air filter box--Power Cell Pod Intake Kit--will not ingest dirt, unlike factory unit, installed a rear storage case/backrest, and installed a Black Dog Throttle lock--poor man's cruise control. I have also upgraded the heat protection for the seat--nice carbon fiber unit with heat padding. You will not roast from the rear cylinder anymore. I have also paid to have the self-cancelling turn signal firmware installed from Dealer.
All service work up to date and performed by factory technicians from dealer--Northern Kentucky KTM Motorsports. Does not need anything until 2800 miles from now for 7,500 mile warranty work. I have never ridden offroad, but you could. This bike excels. I have never tracked it, but you could. This bike loves twisties. I have commuted with it, taken camping road trips with it, and enjoyed many twisty roads. It really is a perfect bike. The Bosch lean angle sensitive traction control/ABS and different ride modes are state-of-the-art. This is the first bike anywhere to have this system installed. It is also the first bike (Harley/Triumph/Kawasaki in past) that my wife enjoys riding pillion on. Very comfortable for passenger. Bike can be seen in person in Cincinnati area. |

Behind the scenes on a photoshoot
Fri, 02 Jul 2010If you read motorcycle magazines - and even road tests on polished websites like this one (!) - you'll be used to seeing pictures of bike journos hamming it up for the camera. Yes they look slick as they kiss another apex, crest another rise with the front wheel pawing the air (those clichés are TM BIKE magazine by the way). But you don't often get to see anything 'behind the scenes'.

KTM Unveils E3W Concept, an Electric Plastic City Car
Fri, 12 Aug 2011KTM has revealed a radical new concept vehicle, a three-wheeled electric city car with a body made of plastic. Designed as a compact, efficient urban transportation vehicle, the KTM E3W was created by KTM, the Austrian Institute of Technology design studio Kisha (as in Gerald Kisha, the KTM designer behind such models as the 1190 RC8R and 125 Duke.) The E3W has two wheels at the front with a single drive wheel at the rear. The E3W seats two people, entering the car through Lamborghini-esque scissor doors for easy access in tight parking spaces.
