Kawasaki Vulcan description

2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic, CUSTOMComplete with Street SwaggerInspired by the streets, inspired by history. The Vulcan 900 Custom and Custom Special Edition both draw from the styling cues from back in the day and modern times. There s plenty to like about the Custom s styling profile, from its aggressive flat handlebar to forward footpegs. The stylish cast wheels, including a solid-look rear wheel, give it a distinctive appearance. And the 180-series rear tire is the largest in its class, highlighting its big bike style. And its affordable price tag makes the Custom an even more appealing ride. The Vulcan 900 Custom s appeal is more than just paint-deep. It has a fuel-injected 903 cc engine that produces exceptional roll-on acceleration rivaling the get-up-and-go of much larger motorcycles yet it s wrapped in a nimble chassis that lets it turn and handle like no heavyweight motorcycle can.

WSBK 2012: Assen Results

Mon, 23 Apr 2012

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. Old Dog, New Tricks: Tackling The LA-Barstow To Vegas Dual-Sport Ride

Mon, 05 Dec 2022

Joining the 39th running of the famed event on a Ducati DesertX and a Kawasaki KLX300 Credit: Photos by Cait Maher, Evans Brasfield, Grumpy, and Ryan Adams Let’s be honest, dual-sport motorcycles aren’t really designed for touring, despite my best efforts ( here and here). The bikes are merely street-legal dirt bikes without much accommodation for creature comfort. So, spending 220-ish miles flat in the saddle from Las Vegas, NV to Palmdale, CA, mostly on Interstate 15, is a platform for cataloging discomforts, and after riding approximately 360 miles, mostly off road over the two previous days, my aches-and-pains were legion.

WSBK: 2012 Misano Results – Video

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Max Biaggi strengthened his hold on the 2012 World Superbike Championship lead with a pair of wins at Italy’s Misano circuit. The Aprilia rider out-battled the Althea Ducati duo of Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano to win Race One before taking a relatively easier Race Two victory. Before the races, WSBK riders lined up on the starting grid to hold a banner expressing their support for the Emilia region in northern Italy which has been suffering from earthquakes and continuing aftershocks since late May.
