If you are a track day regular this year, you may well have bumped into former racer and friendly Kiwi, Simon Crafar. I first met him in Malaysia in 1990 when he was riding for a Yamaha dealer team, sweating his way round circuits like Shah Alam and Johor Bahru but with a long term plan to make it onto the World scene. And he didn’t take long as after riding for Honda in the UK in 1992 he moved to WSB in 1994 and enjoyed success with both the Honda and Kawasaki factory teams.

Mixed among the Brammo TTXs and Empulse Rs that are normally seen in the series, the Bolt II electric motorcycle from Virginia Tech University filled a grid slot amongst them. Rent My Ninja can take care of all the details so you can get out there and have some fun, they will rent you a Ninja 250 that is setup for your weight (plus gear), give you riding class (Kevin, the owner has over 20 years of experience) and arrange the track time, all you need is approved riding gear and $250 (if you book it in advance) and your off to the races! The schedule is now set for 2009, starting in February and ending in September.
