Kawasaki Other description

This is a great bike. Love it but I'm moving and unfortunately must sell. 6600 miles but still being ridden. Engine is stock but bike has numerous functional enhancements:

- Rox riser and Renthal "Ultra Low" bar. Net effect is bar is about the same height as stock but a little further forward.
- Heated grips (Oxford Heaterz Sports model).
- Lowered suspension (Speedy/Motowerk lowering kit, reversible).
- 43T rear sprocket (stock is 46) for more relaxed cruising.
- SW Motech rear rack (the rack goes with the bike but I am keeping the Givi case mount...that's the waffle grid plastic thing bolted to the rack).
- Speedy/Motowerk sidestand foot lets you park it safely on soft ground.
- 12V power outlet.
- Running light function added to front turn signals (Magic Blinkers).
- Seat Concepts seat kit (vastly more comfortable than stock).
- Electrical Connections Power Plate for accessory power.
- Auxiliary LED brake light and "Back Off" flashing brake light module.
- Lower footpegs so your knees are not bent so much (Buell XB).
- Mike's Sport windshield.
- Swingarm spools.

Bike fell over once and there is some scratching on right side of tank and radiator cover (most visible on radiator cover).

Comfortable, fast, smooth, and capable. Motorcyclist Magazine "Motorcycle of the Year".

Price is well below book value. Most stock parts will be included in the sale.

Located in Lafayette Park, right by Greektown. Sometimes I commute on it to Warren so you could possibly see it there too.

Bike is also for sale locally.

AMA Supercross: 2012 New Orleans Results

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

Ryan Villopoto has already secured the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to let up and take it easy over the remainder of the season. The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer clinched his second consecutive title two weeks ago in Houston, Texas, but he continued his dominance in AMA Supercross’ return to New Orleans’ Superdome, taking the holeshot and leading all 20 laps for his ninth win of the season in 14 rounds. The New Orleans round may have lacked some big names currently nursing injuries such as Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed, but Villopoto provided a star effort in the first AMA Supercross race in the city since 2009.

Community Tip: How to Shave your Motorcycle Seat

Thu, 30 Jul 2009

Motorcycle communities are a huge resource for any kind of project or help you might need.  It’s incredible the amount of stuff people post and the effort they put into it! arturo3rd on Kawiforums.com posted some great tips and photos on how to shave down your motorcycle seat for a more comfortable ride. Things you’ll need: flat screwdriver pliers sharp knife(steak) rough grit sand paper staple gun I’m unsure if all motorcycle seats are made of the same material so be wary before you start if your motorcycle isn’t a Kawasaki.

Schoolboy Heroes

Fri, 04 Mar 2011

A wet and grey day in Calais in 1992 wouldn’t be the obvious situation for a life changing experience, but for a 11 year old lad on a boring booze cruise from Dover this is exactly what happened. Pockets bulging with funny money I headed to the Tabac for the obligatory bangers, dirty playing cards and some sweets.  Then it happened, I stood in front of the magazine rack and reached up, as if drawn by an external force.  At the time I wasn’t tall enough for Playboy or L’ Escort so settled for a copy of Moto Verte, the French motocross mag.  Life would never be the same again. Inside there was a double page spread, with a fresh faced Jeremy McGrath resting a leg over his #15 Honda CR125.  Sporting a pair of fluro MX trousers with a, now retro, bright white surname emblazoned jersey, and casting an eye over a seriously vast motocross park.  I stared at this Sinisalo advert all the way home, partly because all the articles were in foreign, but also because I was transfixed.  What and how do I become a motocross champion?
