2001 KAWASAKI ZRX 1200, In 2001 Kawasaki saw fit to design a bike to look like the world championship-winning bike of AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer, Eddi Lawson. This is the ZRX 1200. This bike handles well, has a great, upright seating position, and has plenty of power. This bike is in good condition and runs great. It does have some damage in the front fairing as pictured. Thu, 09 Dec 2010These two beautiful Z1R Kawasakis appeared at the annual Mooneyes Yokohama Custom show last weekend. With one sporting a street/strip look (spot the belly-scraping ride height and rigid rear struts) and the other undergoing a sort of modernisation, they both reminded me just how handsome and unique the original slab-sided Z1R was. Judging by some of the other wild and weird exhibits I made a mental note to myself: must make sure I'm in Japan this time next year.
Kawasaki Reports Q1 2013-2014 Sales Results
Tue, 13 Aug 2013Kawasaki reported net sales of 67.4 billion yen (US$686.5 million) from its Motorcycle and Engine division for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013. That represents a 26.2% increase from the net sales of 53.4 billion yen reported in the same period of 2012. According to Kawasaki’s first quarter report, the Motorcycle and Engine division (which includes Jet Skis, ATVs and UTVs) saw sales of 127,000 units over the quarter, up from 115,000 units in the same period last year.
Kawasaki Reveals Supercharged Inline-Four Engine
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Kawasaki announced it is developing what it calls the world’s first supercharger developed by a motorcycle manufacturer. The giant Japanese company called on its extensive experience in working with turbine engines, and distilled the technology for motorcycle applications, showing a supercharged Inline-Four engine at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. No details were given on the size of the sample engine, though diagrams included in Kawasaki’s patent applications for motorcycle superchargers include one image that looks vaguely similar to the Ninja ZX-14R.
