1988 Kawasaki Police Bike, KZ1000. Motorcycle has 37,563 miles and ran strong when stored. Always garage stored and maintained. New tires less than 1000 miles ago. This is a retired Kansas City MO city police bike. Overall condition is good, but could use some maintenance and cleanup due to storage. Small birdstrike is on the fairing, but it does not affect structural integrity. All police equipment has been removed and it is street legal. Manual cam chain tensioner is installed. Black and white in color, hardbags, solo seat. Clear Wisconsin title.

Rat boy, as he’s known to friends, shone in the 125 and Supersport class and until his horrendous crash at the North West 200 last year was a serious contender for the 2011 BSB title. Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing “I’m not a fan of the Darth Vader looks.” It’s a line we hear often whenever we test one of Kawasaki’s sporty bikes, especially from the Z family of naked bikes. Internally known as the Sugomi design language, Kawasaki says “Someone, or something, possessing sugomi inspires awe, leaves an indelible impression, is daunting in stature or ability, and commands respect.” Maybe it does, or maybe it doesn’t, but angular lines and sharp creases also alienate a section of the motorcycling world who like the modern tech and power from Kawasaki’s Z line, but could do without the sugomi styling.
