Contact Chris at 312-878-8711, chris@motoworkschicago.com, or
through ebay for any questions.
We have a lot of time, effort and
money into listing this motorcycle on ebay. Please be respectful of that
and be certain that you intend to follow through with the sale. Your bid
is a contract to buy.
We have the listing set up to accept
bids only from US and Canadian bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining the
auction. If you are a legitimate bidder outside of the US or Canada and you have a
way to have the bike picked up at our location without it being crated, please e-mail
Chris at chris@motoworkschicago.com. Provide him with your ebay ID and
confirm that you can arrange international shipping and have the bike picked up
uncrated at our location in Chicago, and he will gladly add you to the list that
allows you to bid.
More pictures coming Tuesday detailing the condition of the bike. Please look at all of them
carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding. You can call
Chris at 312-878-8711, e-mail him at chris@motoworkschicago.com, or contact us
through ebay.
The bike is located at Motoworks in
the city of Chicago. If you are local and would like to see it in person,
please call 312-878-8711 to set up an appointment.
Shipping a motorcycle can be
expensive, so be sure to look into it before bidding. The zip code is 60608 to
help in figuring shipping. Our recommendation for a great shipper is
Danny at D&K Services. He can be reached at 973-534-7823.
Winning
bidder picks up in Chicago
or arranges for/pays for all shipping/crating. We can deliver within 100 miles of Chicago
for a fee. $500 deposit via PayPal due
within 24
hours of auction close. Remainder via one of the standard payment
methods
within seven days. No PayPal for remainder unless you contact us first.
The
bike is to be picked up within three weeks of auction close. $25 per
week
storage fee after that. We are a dealer, so we must charge sales tax
and process the title and plate if you are an Illinois buyer. If you
are a buyer from one of the states that reciprocates with Illinois on
sales tax, we must collect sales tax based on the vehicle rate for your
state. As a dealer, we also have a $110 documentation fee, $161 title/registration fee for Illinois buyers, and $10 ride-away permit fee for out-of-state buyers.

2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 Spied in Norway
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Spy photographers have captured images in Norway from a video shoot for what appears to be an updated Kawasaki Ninja 1000. The images show two riders on an updated Ninja 1000 (or Z1000SX, as the bike is known in Europe). The saddlebags indicate this is the Z1000SX Touring variant offered in Europe, but the rest of the motorcycle is otherwise similar to the Ninja 1000 (which, by and by, won our 2011 Gentleman Sportbike Shootout over the Suzuki GSX1250FA and Yamaha FZ1.) The new Ninja 1000 doesn’t look much different from the 2013 model, apart from the new paint job.
US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
Kawasaki Ninja H2 Teaser Video 7
Fri, 19 Sep 2014In this, Kawasaki’s seventh teaser video for its much-hyped Ninja H2, we get a short (really short) history of Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ history and experience building industrial gas turbines. Why does this matter? Because it’s this extensive background that went in to designing and building the centrifugal supercharger for the H2.
