Kawasaki Other description

You are bidding on one 1981 Kawasaki KZ550LTD in very nice used condition. This bike has only 25,795 original miles, and has been well kept throughout the years. I bought this privately and have decided to sell it in favor of a different bike for my son. I have not really done anything to this bike; it runs well and everything works. I really have not put any time into it at all, so I don't have any service records to speak of. There are a few items that could probably use some TLC, but for the most part this bike seems to be in pretty good shape. The things I've found so far are as follows: The ignition switch will work without the key, although the key works all the other locks correctly. It seems that the ignition switch has worn to a point that even a screwdriver will turn on the ignition. The bike also has a split in the seat cover at the crease between the driver and passenger. I'm not sure if the turn signals are mounted in the proper position, which makes me wonder if the handlebars are stock or higher rise than stock. The bike has a new battery, and new tires. The bike shifts smoothly, and runs very strong; Kawasaki is known for their powerful engines, and this is no exception. The brakes, lights, horn, turn signals and high/low beam all work properly. This bike comes with the original owners manual and Clymer shop manual as well. In true E-bay fashion this is being sold "as-is" with no reserve to the highest bidder. No warranties are expressed or implied. This should be a very affordable bike for someone looking to get into some cheap transportation; this bike qualifies for historic tags and insurance, which is very inexpensive. Buyer is responsible for all arrangement and costs of shipping. I will gladly help with the safe loading of the bike with the shipper of your choice. I would like to have the bike shipped within two weeks of auction's end. You are also welcome to come pick up the bike yourself. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

A reader sent in this news story featured on SWNS.com. Sean Cole, 43, a pizza delivery man has hand-built the transparent kennel and fixed it to the back of his red Kawasaki GPZ900 to carry his dog Gizmo with him when he's out and about. The box has special air holes and a fan to keep the one-year-old dog – a Coton de Tulear – nice and cool on each trip.

Kawasaki is issuing a recall on 2008-2011 Ninja ZX-10R and the 2009-2012 Ninja ZX-6R sportbikes due to a defect affecting the batteries. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the regulator/rectifier on affected units may not sufficiently charge the battery. As a result, the battery may unexpectedly be fully discharged, causing the engine to stall.
