Barn Find Bike vin Z1F501752 1976 Kawasaki KZ 900 with only 11,000 original miles, this bike has spent its life tucked away here in Northern Maine. Wrapped in a Vetter Windjammer fairing until this summer, the bike has always been ridden gently, the 2nd owner parked it in 06, It had new tires put on that year and was ridden less than 200miles, I put a new battery in this year along with a new fuel petcock, the bike starts and runs on all 4 cyl, but should have a full service including oil change, plugs, fuel lines and carbs cleaned before hitting the road, the chrome is really nice, but the original paint is baked..... it should be redone but can be ridden as is if you so choose. the seat also has a couple age splits....comes with period correct crashbars and sissybar ... and under the seat is the original tool kit and rear tray with the original owners manual...overall this bike is in great condition.... Maine does not title anything built before 1995 so the bike will have a Transferable Registrations and Bill of Sale thats good in all 50 states for transfer of ownership, and will work for our overseas buyers as well. A Weighty Issue
Mon, 03 Nov 2008For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.

John McGuinness, second on the all-time TT wins list, added two more wins to his resume to win the Joey Dunlop Trophy while MotoCzysz once again fell just short of taking the bounty for being the first electric motorcycle team to record a 100 mph lap on the Mountain Course. The 2011 Isle of Man TT also had its share of tragedy with three racing fatalities.
