Kawasaki Other tech info

Kawasaki Other description
Up for bid is a 1968 Kawasaki 650 twin with only 5,331 original miles. This 650 is Kawasaki's answer to all the British motorcycles, for that time period. ( Norton, Triumph, BSA and Royal Enfield). This motorcycle runs great and is really fun to ride, if you can get use to the brake on the left and shifter on the right. This bike has had a peanut gas tank installed, as well as a Triumph seat. Wish I had the original seat and tank, but I do not. This motorcycle was set up to look like a British bike from the 60's and I believe it does make it unique. There is no electric starter on this, but with just a kick or two the engine comes to life and the Kirker 2 into 1 pipe gives it a throaty, as well as mellow sound. To me, even though this bike has been changed a little, it has a nostalgia look to it. Motor does not leak at all, engine is smooth and quiet. Rides, and shifts great, Only the 48 states bid, pick up only. Thanks

Kawasaki Recalls Concours 14 for Rear Brake Problem A Previous Recall Failed to Fix
Fri, 27 Jul 2012Kawasaki is issuing a recall for the Concours 14 for a rear brake pedal issue the company had previously tried to fix in 2008. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, road debris can get trapped between the brake pedal and a pedal guard, causing slight pressure on the rear brakes. The rear brake drag can cause the brakes to overheat, potentially leading to brake damage, a rear brake lockup or failure of the rear brakes.
