Kawasaki Ninja H2R overtook the F-16 fighter jet

The fight, worthy of being called the drag duel of the year, took place on the territory of the new airfield in Istanbul as part of the Teknofest aviation and space technology festival. The extreme compressor monster, which does not have access to public roads, has shown that the F-16 fighter jet and the Bombardier Challenger 600 business class aircraft on the earth's surface are not competitors to it. Kawasaki Z1R.

These two beautiful Z1R Kawasakis appeared at the annual Mooneyes Yokohama Custom show last weekend. With one sporting a street/strip look (spot the belly-scraping ride height and rigid rear struts) and the other undergoing a sort of modernisation, they both reminded me just how handsome and unique the original slab-sided Z1R was.  Judging by some of the other wild and weird exhibits I made a mental note to myself: must make sure I'm in Japan this time next year.

Adjectives fail me.  This almost seems like one of those sci-fi movies where an evil scientist tries to cross two deadly animals together to create the ultimate killing machine. So what are we looking at?  It seems to be the deformed love child of a Citroën Xantia and a Kawasaki 1000 RX. This custom project, called “Snaefell“, cost its creator about 15000 Euros and 10 years of part time work.
