Kawasaki Ninja description

This auction is for a like-new 2011 ZX-14 with only 2,826 miles that I purchased on June 29th of this year. It will sell to the highest bidder, and there is no reserve. This was a left-over 2011 model, which is why it was purchased this year. It is covered by the full factory warranty until June 28, 2014.

The bike is stock except for the Yoshimura fender eliminator. I have the original license plate holder. The bike was serviced at 600 miles, received another oil change at 2,523 miles (Mobil 1 Synthetic), and at 2,729 miles a new rear tire was installed (Michelin Pilot Road 3).

The bike has not been wrecked, dropped, raced, or abused in any manner. I am a 35-year old father of two, and I take long rides in the mountains as an escape from my dueling toddlers, so 90+% of the miles were put on the bike in 6th gear.

The bike is paid off, but I am awaiting receipt of the title from Texas (I'm military stationed in Colorado). That could take about 2-3 weeks; however, the winning bidder may take immediate possession of the bike once I have the funds. I will give him/her a bill of sale, which is legal proof of ownership, until the title arrives. If there are any title concerns before bidding, send me your email address, and I will be happy to send you a copy of the buyer's order from Rocky Mountain Cycles here in Colorado Springs showing me as the owner. I am requiring a $500 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close. I had this bike listed previously at 1,879 miles, and that deal didn't work out, so the deposit is for my protection. (The bike is not being ridden, so 2,826 is the mileage that will be on it when you buy it.)

The bike is in Colorado Springs. The winning bidder may pick the bike up from me, or I will deliver within 200 miles of my house, and by deliver, I mean I will ride the bike out to you, as I've already sold my ramp and have no way of putting the bike in my truck. You can also have the bike shipped using several vendors on Ebay and elsewhere. The cost is generally several hundred dollars ($300-750 range) and varies with distance. I've personally used DAS Auto Shippers in the past with good results. You can get a quote from their website.

If you have any questions at all about the bike or the process, just shoot me a message thru Ebay.

Recall for 2009-2010 Kawasaki KLX250

Tue, 05 Jul 2011

Kawasaki is recalling some 2009-2010 KLX250 models due to a risk of leaky fuel tanks. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the fuel tank on affected motorcycles may not be in contact with the frame-mounted rubber dampers designed to support the front of the tank, and the tank side mounting tabs may have excessive clearance from from the frame. As a result, spot-welded sections along the side tabs may be under excessive stress, potentially resulting in cracking and a fuel leak.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Phoenix Results

Mon, 16 Jan 2012

Ryan Dungey gave KTM its first ever AMA Supercross win, taking the holeshot and leading every lap in Phoenix, Ariz. With an audience of 49,236 watching at Chase Field, it was the field that had to chase Dungey during the main event. Dungey jumped out in front at the first corner followed by JGRMX Yamaha‘s Davi Millsaps and defending AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto of Kawasaki.

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.
