2011 KAWASAKI Ninja ZX-10R ABS, Its hard to imagine a more advanced or more capable sportbike than the completely new and totally redesigned Kawasaki Ninja. ZX-10R. After all, it packs the very latest in sport bike technology, much of it right off the MotoGP circuit, including the most advanced traction-control system in production bike history. But the ZX-10R has an even smarter sibling the 2011 Ninja ZX-10R ABS. At first glance, anti-lock braking might seem a touch out of place on a purebred sportbike. This system was designed from the start to provide maximum on-track performance. And when you consider the many safety- and control-oriented benefits provided by the amazing electronic and hardware technology available today, it begins to make a lot of sense. Think of it: Youre charging into a hairpin during a track day. Its late in the afternoon, youre tired, and your front tire is shagged from a day of hard-core knee-dragging. But instead of tucking as you squeeze the front brake lever, your front tire chirps briefly and the KIBS system intervenes until traction returns allowing you to arc gracefully into the corner, a little wiser and a lot more intact physically that you might have been riding a non-ABS motorcycle. On the street, anti-locks benefits are even easier to realize.

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates
Tue, 03 Jan 2012In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.

Andrea Antonelli Dies After Moscow World Supersport Crash
Sun, 21 Jul 2013Italian racer Andrea Antonelli succombed to injuries suffered in a crash during the World Supersport race at Moscow Raceway in Russia. The Go Eleven Kawasaki racer crashed on the final corner of the opening lap in very wet conditions, and was struck by Pata Honda racer Lorenzo Zanetti. The race was immediately red-flagged and Antonelli was taken away by ambulance while medical staff attempted to resuscitate him, but the 25-year-old was pronounced dead at 2:10 pm local time.
