Kawasaki KX description

2012 Kawasaki KX 100, Destination, assembly and negotiable documentary service fee of up to $150.00 added. 2012 Kawasaki KX 100 Bridging the Gap to the Big Time
Following the adage to use the right tool for the job, the KX100 is the perfect instrument to help competitive riders step up their game and begin to transition into the big leagues of 250cc full-sized Lites competition. The KX100 helps bridge that huge gap between classes, providing growing adolescent riders with a machine that accommodates both their growing skill base and their size, allowing them to concentrate on honing their capabilities rather than controlling excessive power. Features
Engine
The KX100 s 99cc liquid-cooled two-stroke engine offers both more power and a broader spread of it than the KX85. The 28mm Keihin carburetor and carbon-fiber reed valve assembly help provide a crisp throttle response while the Kawasaki Integrated Power-valve System (KIPS) helps produce a powerband with good low-end torque and a strong top-end rush. The power then passes onto a smooth-shifting six-speed transmission, giving the KX a gear for every situation on the race track.
The engine is bolted to a black high-tensile steel perimeter frame with a specially designed fuel tank located inside the frame to lower the fuel load and center of gravity for optimal handling. Adjustable long-travel suspension at both ends helps smooth even the roughest motocross circuits. The 36mm inverted cartridge fork has compression damping adjustment capability, while the UNI-TRAK rear suspension system comes equipped with a shock that s fully adjustable for spring preload, compression and rebound damping. In the braking department, both front and rear discs are mounted with shoulder bolts for easier maintenance.

Old Dog, New Tricks: Tackling The LA-Barstow To Vegas Dual-Sport Ride

Mon, 05 Dec 2022

Joining the 39th running of the famed event on a Ducati DesertX and a Kawasaki KLX300 Credit: Photos by Cait Maher, Evans Brasfield, Grumpy, and Ryan Adams Let’s be honest, dual-sport motorcycles aren’t really designed for touring, despite my best efforts ( here and here). The bikes are merely street-legal dirt bikes without much accommodation for creature comfort. So, spending 220-ish miles flat in the saddle from Las Vegas, NV to Palmdale, CA, mostly on Interstate 15, is a platform for cataloging discomforts, and after riding approximately 360 miles, mostly off road over the two previous days, my aches-and-pains were legion.

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

From the News That Sounds Too Good To Be True But, Boy, Do We Hope It Is Department, MWR Air Filters wants riders to know that its MWR High Efficiency Air Filters are breaking new ground in air filtration technology. While the company’s name might not be commonplace among performance oriented riders – yet – some pretty big names are using MWR filters even though the company doesn’t pay sponsorship dollars. According to MWR’s press release, “the reigning WSBK champion, Tom Sykes uses MWR Air Filters in his Kawasaki ZX10R.” Also, 17 riders at the Isle of Man TT were running with MWR filters.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Toronto Results

Mon, 26 Mar 2012

Ryan Villopoto moved one step closer to repeating as AMA Supercross Champion with his seventh win of the season at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. With his chief rivals not making the trip north of the border due to various injuries, Villopoto can clinch the 2012 championship as soon as next weekend’s race at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, if they continue to be out of action. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider has 271 points with five rounds remaining.
