It combines tractable power with two-stroke KX maneuverability. Ideal for off-road competitors and recreational riders alike, this is the motorcycle favored by off-road legend Larry Roeseler, that in itself says alot about the KLX300R. Designed to be ultra-compact, the liquid-cooled 292cc engine features dual overhead cams activating four valves atop Electrofusion-coated aluminum cylinder, which is wear resistant. The engine is wrapped in a high-tensile steel perimeter frame, based on the design of the Kawasakis championship-winning KX motocross bikes. A 26.5 degree steering angle and short wheelbase contribute to quick handling characteristics. The KLX300R comes fully loaded with equipment to handle the rigors of trail riding. Standard items include, headlight and taillight, sidestand, hand guards to fend off brush, snail-type chain adjusters for quick rear-wheel removal and chain adjustment, an odometer, a U.S. Forestry Service approved spark arrestor and a large fuel tank with reserve petcock. The durable KLX300R also comes with a 6-month limited warranty.

Emerson Fittipaldi is probably best known for his four-wheel racing career which include two Formula One World Championships, a CART racing title and two Indy 500 victories. What might be less known, at least outside of his native Brazil perhaps, is Fittipaldi owns a pair of Kawasaki motorcycle dealerships. The 65-year-old former racer and his team has produced a limited edition run of 50 Kawasaki ZX-10R sportbikes in the black and gold colors of his 1972 F1 Championship-winning John Player Lotus 72 car.
