Kawasaki KLR description

2009 Kawasaki Klr 650, Jesse Luggage Systems Odyssey II, MEFO Explorer tires with 80% tread. Powerlet power port near dash on faring for cell phones, GPS, radios, grips etc. New battery last season. DG Aftermarket Exhaust (will include two stock exhausts, one in great condition, and one opened-as well as DG Quiet-Core insert). Eagle Mike Engineering and Mfg. Doohickey mod. What is that?-simply put, the Kawasaki KLR engines come with a tensioner spring and lever that loads the timing and balancer chains. On the older models (pre-08), the lever has been documented to give out under very extreme stresses. On the newer AND older models, the cam tensioner lever spring has been known to be too long from the factory and ceased to apply tension to the chain after the first couple adjustments, resulting is a sloppy chain. I have replaced these potential problems with Eagle Mike Mfg cam chain tensioner lever and heavy duty torsion spring. This will outlive the engine itself. I will also include all the tools that I have acquired to do the job-rotor puller and rotor holder wrench. Watt-man Thermo-Bob (T-Bob) mod. From The Thermo-Bob is an external thermostat with a coolant bypass. It allows coolant to bypass the radiator during warm-up, eliminating the surges of cold coolant year-round. It also raises the operating temperature at the top of the cylinder to 195F from 160F. more importantly, it raises the operating temperature at the bottom of the cylinder to 185F from downright cold, (ie as cold as 30F). It should eliminate the out-of-round cylinders that are common to the KLR as it ages which usually results in increased oil consumption. The warmer temps should extend engine life as well as increase oil change intervals, and improve economy by a few MPG. High and Low beam 35W HID headlamps with dual digital ballasts-5000K Temp (White light, not blue, or purple, or yellow. White). I've done this for two reasons. One, It only loads the stator with 35 watts of power as opposed to the 55W of a single halogen lamp, and two-for increased visibility and awareness. I've had zero problems looking ahead while cruising on the country roads at night. Original halogen bulbs included and can be swapped quite easily. Added third LED tail light under rear luggage rack for increased visibility to other drivers. This bike always starts, always performs, and has never let me down. The only issue it has cosmetically is a scrape on one of the boxes, and a spot on the fairing from where it was dropped on an asphalt driveway. It is hardly even noticeable. All photos show the bike AFTER the damages have occurred. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to text me, I will try to answer them as best I can. Calls are hit or miss since I am at work all day, texts or emails. $4,300.00 440-308-9107

Kawasaki World Debut At AIMExpo

Mon, 11 Aug 2014

Kawasaki has chosen the 2014 American International Motorcycle Expo as the venue to make the world debut of a yet unannounced motorcycle model. The model launch will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, this October 16-19.  “AIMExpo demonstrated last year that it can serve as the ideal platform for media and brand activities and Kawasaki will leverage this grand stage to reveal new products, as well as interact closely with dealers and consumers,” explains Kevin Allen, Kawasaki Manager, PR + Brand Experience. “We have some very exciting new product to share and AIMExpo is the perfect place to make these announcements.” Attendees will also witness the North American introduction of all-new vehicles in several categories from Kawasaki. Following the unveilings, all products will then be on full display for all to see inside Kawasaki’s booth (#2165) out on the AIMExpo show floor.  “Kawasaki joins an expanding list of key companies that sees AIMExpo as the perfect means to infuse energy into the powersports business in North America,” says Larry Little, Vice President and General Manager, Marketplace Events Motorcycle Group.

2013 AMA Supercross Indianapolis Race Report

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Ryan Villopoto continues to be in championship form, taking his third consecutive victory and sixth of the season with a win at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Indianapolis round of the 2013 AMA Supercross Championship. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider had a calculated, methodical race to take the win and expand his championship lead to nine points ahead of Davi Millsaps. Millsaps took the holeshot in a chaotic start to the main event that saw several riders go down at the opening corner.

2010 Kawasaki KLX110 Launch

Mon, 09 Nov 2009

The last time I rode one of Kawasaki’s 110cc MX bikes, I was banging elbows with Gary Nixon in a journo race on Max Yasgers, I mean Mertens Dairy farm in beautiful Sonoma, California. Battling against experienced racers, a muddy track and humorous rider-to-motorcycle ergonomics, I managed to outshine all of the racing glory at the nearby Infineon raceway by taking home the gold, shoes. Top prize for endangering my life in a battle of laughter and pocket-sized Singles was a pair of size 13 sneakers spray painted gold.
