Kawasaki KLR description

This is the bike I learned on. I used to commute to work on it but you have to keep the carbs in TOP condition at ALL times to ride in the winter as a commuter. When I'm dressed in a suit, I don't have time to mess with kick start a 22oF. lol. 60oF and up you should be fine or just do a carb rebuild and possibly be ok all year. You will have to do a carb cleaning anyway.

I parked this bike running but let it sit outside for years without doing any maintenance. This means you will have to refresh it before using it. You will need to do:

Clean and possibly replace all fuel lines
Clean carb
New plugs
Clean tank
Replace the signal lights and stalks
New chain
New battery possible (check first)

That should get her up and running like new again but that is just my guess. I've never done a restoration like this. I do know these mechanical are kind of bulletproof and were used by the army. It's too simple to require much to get going again. I'd LOVE to do the rebuild myself, BUT I just lost my job and this money is for my rent while I look for another job.

2014 Kawasaki KLR650 New Edition Revealed

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

Kawasaki revealed an updated version of its popular KLR650 dual-sport at the New York International Motorcycle Show. The new KLR650 isn’t exactly a full model-year replacement as Kawasaki had already announced the 2014 model; instead Kawasaki is calling it the KLR650 New Edition, offering it for a retail price of $6,599, a $100 premium over the “old edition” KLR650. The extra Benjamin Franklin gets you new springs for both front and rear suspension, multi-contour dimpled seat and revised graphics.

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

A few days ago, Kawasaki revealed several 2014 models including a new Ninja 1000 updated with ABS, traction control, multiple ride modes, monobloc calipers and optional luggage. Among the model announcements was the 2014 Ninja ZX-14R with three new color options: Golden Blazed Green and Metallic Spark Black, Candy Burnt Orange and Metallic Spark Black, and Flat Ebony and Ebony. But that’s not all Kawasaki had for its 1441cc behemoth.
