Kawasaki KLR description

2004 Kawasaki KLR650 with 705 cc upgrade kit. This bike has all the desirable upgrades and is the best set-up for reliability and to correct the issues with stock KLR's. Bike is in excellent condition and starts, runs, and drives like new. Engine is tight and does not push oil and no leaks.  I was told by the previous owner that this bike has been an on-road commuter since day 1. I have owned it for 2 years and have only driven it on-road as well. Not perfect cosmetically, but excellent for the year. These bikes have 6.5 gallon fuel tanks and offer good range between fill-ups. If you like power and comfort, then you will not find a better KLR than this one!

No reserve and low starting price.  This is a lot of bike for the money and the new owner should be very happy.

Upgrades include:
Schnitz Racing 705 cc big bore engine upgrade kit including a cryogenically treated cylinder, oversized valves, professionally ported intake and exhaust, and high performance camshafts.

A Mikuni HS40 flatslide carb has been added and tuned for crisp response and improved flow.

UNI air filter added with airbox modification for improved air flow.

Complete FMF exhaust system with Powerbomb header pipe and Powercore 4 exhaust system.

Eagle Mike "doohickey" engine balancer upgrade reduces vibration.

"Thermobob" thermostat upgrade improves operating temperature.

Comes with extra tall touring windshield and stock windshield.

"Seat Concepts" all day comfort seat has extra padding and is better contoured.

Quick release removable locking trunk storage. Holds 2 helmets or gear.

A center-stand has been added with kick-stand delete. Center stands are way more useful.

Weather proof sound system with speakers and amp - plugs into your phone or mp3 player

Bike is up to date on maintenance. 6k on last valve shim check, 10k on; swingarm bearings, steering column bearings, motor mounts, and UNI track. Has aftermarket maintenance-free sealed wheel bearings. Tires are good as pictured. Includes 14 15 and 17 tooth front sprocket which can be changed quickly.

Tue, 14 Aug 2012

Early this year, thousands of drag racers chased the dream and entered Kawasaki’s nationally-promoted “Zero to Hero Challenge,” hoping for the opportunity to face-off against multi-time champion Rickey Gadson and take home a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. Beginning this week, Speed and Fuel TV will broadcast the Zero to Hero Challenge across several time slots. Both cable networks will treat viewers to an inside look at the process all contestants went through on their way to challenging Gadson on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag strip in May.

Keep your bike close to you when you go camping with the MOTOTENT from motorcycle adventurers Lone Rider. Priced at £450, here's a round-up of the features from Lone Rider: The MOTOTENT is spacious enough to shelter a dual sport bike as big a BMW R1200 GSA with all its luggage, to have room to work on it, and to be able to stand in the tent. The tunnel-shaped design allows a very quick setup of the tent when needed.

Electrics coming in 2023, hybrid Ninja to follow in 2024 After presenting an electric prototype last month at Intermot, Kawasaki revealed a range of electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-powered prototypes at EICMA. The alternative energy models are part of Kawasaki’s efforts to reach carbon neutrality, with production models expected to launch in the next two to three years. Most of the prototypes used Kawasaki’s new Go with Green Power logo which will be used on its carbon neutrality efforts.
