This ZL 1000 is fast, starts with the first push of the starter button then purrs while waiting for the throttle command. The overall condition of this classic thoroughbred supports the extremely low miles. As this bike is being marketed internationally it has not been registered for NZ roads. If sold in New Zealand the successful buyer can choose to receive the bike with three months registration and current WOF. ** Only 2500 of these classics were made for the USA and European market. This rare model was rated when new of performing 0-100 km/hr in 2.8 seconds. And was the first time that Kawasaki had built a water cooled in-line four cylinder with a shaft drive. The gearing, modified camshafts and carburation including Reed valves were designed to achieve a very fast standing start. Mission accomplished. |

Tested: Maxxis Supermaxx Diamond
Fri, 23 Sep 2011Well Maxxis were bang on with their mileage claims, 6500 miles on the rear and it looks as though there is another 1000. Not bad at all for a set of tyres that cost less than £200. Having lived with the Supermaxx’s Diamonds over the past few months the best thing about these tyres is the mileage range they offer vs cost.
