Kawasaki Vulcan description

2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Nomad, Tour Time! - The Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Nomad represents the epitome of cruiser design and function. With its fresh styling and advanced, performance-enhanced V-twin engine, this motorcycle is made for touring comfort. Its also nice to know that, in an upscale marketplace overflowing with brands and models that offer touring capability, the Vulcan 1500 Nomad costs thousands of dollars less than the competition. The Nomad features all the styling elements befitting a class-leading cruiser, including twin chrome exhaust pipes, chrome engine guards, rider and passenger floorboards, and polished alloy wheels. Equally important, however, are the touring accessories, such as an adjustable windshield, plush air-assisted rear suspension, a sculpted seat for one- or two-up long-distance riding, ergonomic controls and adjustable levers. Distinctively streamlined hard saddlebags provide generous storage capacity for those hard-to-resist overnight rides. The Nomads 90 cubic-inch V-twin engine generates incredible torque with its high-compression pistons and performance-oriented cam timing. There are four valves per cylinder actuated by single overhead cams. Hydraulic lash adjusters automatically maintain valve clearance for smooth engine performance, reduced noise and minimal maintenance, and automatic cam chain tensioners keep cam timing accurate and provide greater reliability with virtually no upkeep.

We ran a couple of stories last week - both, coincidentally, about new Kawasakis. One was the first peek of the new ZX10R – hot stuff you’d imagine – the other, the new W800 retro parallel twin. I suppose it shouldn’t have shocked us, which story was most popular in terms of hits but it really does mark a seismic shifts in British biking attitudes that the W800 story doubled the hits of the ZX10 piece.

Webb Wins Salt Lake City EnduroCross

Mon, 13 Oct 2014

From an EnduroCross press release: Factory Beta and Stillwell Performance-backed Cody Webb took a decisive win tonight in Salt Lake City’s inaugural AMA GEICO EnduroCross event. The win was Webb’s second after taking the first round victory in Las Vegas and puts him and his Beta two-stroke 300 into the points lead. The race fans in attendance at the Energy Solutions Arena saw a night go almost perfectly for GEICO-supported Webb.
